For me, it was the opportunity to move up quickly within the company and all the financial opportunities WVC has to offer.

I look up to people with financial freedom. People who have worked their way up so that they can enjoy life the way they want.
What is your favourite part about working at West Valley Consulting?
It’s definitely all the relationships I get to make with all of our clients and all of my team members. Also, I find important all the connections that WVC has to offer nationwide.

I started and ran a business in health industry.
Back in the day, I was a college athlete and played football.
I’ve lived in China for few months for studies.

Before you head home on a Friday afternoon, it is good to sum up the week. That way it is easier to start the weekend with a clear mind so you don’t have to keep thinking about the next week all weekend. Here’s our 5 tips on how to sum up your week and how to get the best out of it.
Go back to your goals
Did you reach all the goals you set in the beginning of the week? What about the ones you didn’t?
What worked for you?
After going through your goals, think about them more closely. What do you think worked for you this week? What helped you reach those goals?
What are your points of improvement?
Think about why you didn’t reach some of your goals and what could be improved to hit those goals next week. Or were those goals too far for you for now and maybe you need to rethink keeping those in your goal list.
Focus on next week
After going through your week and your goals, it is time to move on. Briefly plan your next week and some of the goals you want to hit. Also, remember to write those down or you will definitely forget those by Monday.
Highlight of the week
Spend a minute to think about the highlight of your week and enjoy the great feeling you got after succeeding in that. Keep that memory in you and head home for a great weekend!

Jennifer, why did you choose West Valley Consulting?
Marketing and sales just fell into my lap, and West Valley Consulting seemed like a sustainable company to work with. Also, from the start, West Valley Consulting showed a fun work place with great atmosphere.
What is your favorite part about West Valley Consulting?
I love the team environment we have here, and all the employees are very supportive of each other. I also prefer the B2B consulting model that West Valley Consulting uses for its direct marketing strategy.
Who are some of your role models?
I admire people who come from nothing to something great through hard work and perseverance. My professional role model is physicist Marie Curie, who led a very successful career. On a more personal level, I think of my parents as my role models, too.
What would be your advice for someone starting at West Valley Consulting?
Don’t doubt your abilities when something seems difficult; we all have to start somewhere! There’s only one way to go, and that’s forward! ➡️
Jennifer, tell us something unique about yourself?
I have studied molecular biology. I also started dancing ballet 20 years ago, and I still do it to this day! 👯
In addition to ballet, do you have other hobbies?
When I get the chance, I love to do yoga or read a good book. A good nap once in a while is also my kind of sport!
And lastly, what are your career goals?
I plan to advance fast within West Valley Consulting and be promoted to Assistant Management as soon as possible!

AMY TURCOTTE
Amy is a Utah native and graduated from Riverton High School in 2015. In her spare time, she coaches horseback riding and actively volunteers for organizations such as Future Farmers of America. It is no secret that Amy loves horses, but did you know she can do gymnastics on the back of a moving horse? How awesome is that?! 🐎🤸
Amy has worked with West Valley Consulting for less than a month, but she has already become a big part of our team, and we can’t wait to see what she has to offer next!
JORDAN ARNDT
Jordan joined our team in January, and we quickly realized the great potential he holds. With a strong background in customer service, beginning a career in marketing and sales was an easy transition for him!
Jordan came to West Valley Consulting to enhance his communication skills and to learn more about the business world. He enjoys working with people and is ready to take on any challenge. A fun fact about Jordan is that he loves to break dance! (We have yet to witness his break dancing, but we are eager to see his moves!) 🕺🎶

So, Tanner, what did you find intriguing about West Valley Consulting?
I loved the energy and enthusiasm shown during my interview process! Also, I wanted a career that involved actual in-person contact with business owners.
Why did you choose our company as your next career move?
I didn’t have many career goals before, so when I discovered the potential West Valley Consulting has to offer, I knew it would be a good fit.
Who is you greatest mentor/role model?
My trainer and team leader, Grant. He and I have a similar personality and sense of humor; we instantly got along, and he is someone I know I can follow.
What is your favorite part about working at West Valley Consulting?
The awesome communication between our team, hands down! I love the internal dynamics within the company. My peers are very helpful and motivating.
What advice do you have for future Corporate Trainers?
Don’t be hard on yourself, and don’t expect success immediately. Allow yourself chances to learn from failure, believe in yourself, and believe in the product.
What are some of you hobbies?
Watching movies (my favorite is The Devil Wears Prada), playing tennis, attending social events such as charities and fundraisers (just any chance to get dressed up!), hanging out with my cat, Fitz, and relaxing/sleeping.
What are some unique facts about yourself that most people don’t know?
My favorite color to wear is blue, and my favorite color to look at is green.
My favorite books are The Giver and the Harry Potter series.
The most unique fact of all: I was on an international clogging team for two years! I traveled to France, Spain, Portugal, the Czech Republic, and Poland!

What are your career goals?
“Learn all there is to know about HR and eventually become an HR Director where I can start training new team members!”
What is your favorite part about working at West Valley Consulting?
“One of my favorite parts is the great atmosphere and team spirit we have here at West Valley Consulting!”
What advice do you have for anyone trying to succeed in a Human Resources position?
“Always be consistent, know what your goals are, and work hard to achieve them.”
Who are your role models/mentors?
“Anyone who I see that is really enthusiastic about the work they do or the life they live; that person is an every-day role model for me.”
What are your hobbies, social activities, etc.?
“When I’m not spending time with my family, I love being outdoors, jogging, seeing a movie, or listening to good music.”
What is an unique fact about yourself?
“I come from a land which has thousands of lakes and the highest number of metal bands per capita – Finland.”
What are the traits/characteristics that you look for in candidates when recruiting?
“Among other things, I look for people who show enthusiasm and interest, a willingness to learn, and a desire to work as a team player.”
We are all experiencing life on a daily basis. That means that we all have a sense of what we want, and we all create our own expectations about how some things should go and how some should not.
If things go our way, whether it is getting that job we are applying for, getting a date with that dream partner or any other scenario that we desire, we feel happy, satisfied and capable. But when they don’t, it is easy to get caught up in the negativity of failing to fulfill our plans and our ability to see the good in every situation gets blocked by our emotions and our fading illusions.
In that same way, when unexpected difficulties cross our paths, the majority of people focus on how well things would be going if it weren’t for that setback, or how misfortunate they are to be dealing that struggle. Logic and intuition tell us that a struggle is something negative. I say it is completely the opposite.
Here are 3 ways that you can look at your struggle so you can experience the positive effects that any struggle can offer you:
1. See your struggles as lessons
When you don’t get the results you hoped for from a certain situation, rather than feeling sad and pessimistic about it, you should try and seize the opportunity to learn something. Ask yourself, “what could I have done differently to increase the chances of getting the results I wanted?”
Identify where you failed and make the proper adjustment so that the same thing won’t happen to you again in the future. By doing this, your struggle just became a life lesson, and life lessons are an asset that we can take an incredible advantage of in many situations.
I once had an interview for a job I really wanted, but I did not prepare optimally and when my interviewer asked me, “What motivates you?”, I didn’t know exactly what to answer. Screwing this interview up made me search for what motivates me, and find it. It also made me realize that next time I have an interview or some important event in my forecast, I must take time to prepare and rehearse.

2. See your struggles as growth
Life is not all about rainbows and butterflies. It gets tough sometimes, and we are just one unexpected event away from visiting very dark places. When you hit rock bottom, tell yourself that you have been chosen to go on a mission to find a treasure, and the only way you will survive is by preparing for the future, and by being different.
It is in those moments that we, little by little, begin to find relief in the simplest things: In nature, family, music, art, reading, and living. Your spirit will begin to find new meanings of life you could have never thought about in normal circumstances, and the meanings that you find will begin to light a fire inside of you that will propel you for the rest of your life.
Rather than harming yourself over your misfortune, believe in a higher purpose and recognize and feel the growth you are experiencing through the pain. Be more than patient and be aware that those difficult moments are giving you the strength to influence millions of people in the future. It will all be more than worth it when it´s all over and your lasting struggle will transform you into a much more spiritual, determined and happy person.
3. See your struggles as destiny
Have you ever thought that you struggling with something could be the trigger for you to get to beautiful destinations? It completely changed my perspective when I heard a friend’s story about how she met the love of her life. It was a several years ago when my friend got assaulted by two men while she was driving her car down the road in the middle of the night.
They took the car and let her go after minutes of verbal and physical abuse. She was left so traumatized that she was really struggling to leave her house months after the incident. Her parents were so worried about her that they decided to force her to take an exchange semester in Chile so she can clear her mind up. Guess who she met there?
This is a clear example of how a misfortune can transform into a blessing. Combine any struggle that you are facing or could face in the future with a little hope, and expect the unbelievable to happen.

Every struggle carries with it the opportunity to learn, to grow, and to believe. Make sure to use these three different perspectives every time you are struggling with something, and it would not take much before you start seeing the good out of any situation.
